The Stevens Family has a proud history of meeting at annual reunions since 1891.
Pictured: 25th reunion
The first reunion began when the children of Hanson and Lavina Stevens decided to gather their families in 1891 for a birthday celebration for the oldest sibling, Issac Stevens. They so enjoyed their gathering that they decided to make it an annual occurrence. Attendance and minutes were documented in a thick leather-bound book (1891 minutes entry). A new book was purchased for the 100th reunion celebration. The original minutes book, now a prized, historical artifact, is stored for safekeeping. A copy of the first minutes book is brought to reunions for family members to view and is available for snippets of historical information to share at reunion.
Family members decided to hold reunions on the third Sunday every year to make it easier for family to set aside that day to gather together.
2027 Stevens Family Reunion Information
We will be celebrating the 137th Stevens family reunion on July 18, 2027 (always the third Sunday of July)! The site information will be posted here as soon as reservations are made. We gather at various sites in Oregon.
Recently our reunions have been at Champoeg State Park and Barton Park in Clackamas County. We are always looking for covered site suggestions that accomodates tables for 100 people and for food, has electricity, is ADA accessible, and has nearby parking and bathrooms. Suggestions can be sent to Contact.
A potluck begins at 12:00 pm and a family meeting follows at 1:00 pm to share family statistics and stories. We have coffee/tea, punch and water available. Family members are asked bring a contribution for the meal, plates, utensils and their own beverages.
Support reunion organizers
The family appreciates donations, which are used to host the annual reunion and other projects, such as cemetery marker upgrades and family history publications. At each reunion we “pass the hat” for funds to cover current reunion expenses. You can also use this QR code to donate to the Stevens Family Reunion fund via Venmo.
